An angel appears in the village, giving warning of the waters being poisoned in the near future. The angel informs the villagers that if anyone drinks of the waters, it will result in madness. So, the angel urges the villagers need to collect water over the next several days. Afterward, for an unspecified number of days, the water will be undrinkable.
The hermit, having come down from his mountain hermitage, heard the warning. He proceeded to collect water, in anticipation of the fulfillment of the warning given by the angel.
The villagers gathered together. After deliberations, they decided the vision was a trick of the evil one; having decided this, the people ignored the warning.
The hermit, after many days, returned to the village. The people had become mad, having drunk of the poisoned water. They become angry at the hermit, seeing how he looked at them astounded. And the villagers thought him mad, and the hermit, seeing persons whispering about him and avoiding him, returned in sadness to his hermitage.
The hermit made several other visits down the mountain. Each time he returned to his hermitage, saddened by how the villagers treated him, thinking him crazy. And he knew it was unwise to try to convince them they were really the ones who had gone mad ~ no, that would be futile, so he would remain in silence among them, enduring their misunderstanding, whispering, and avoidance.
After some weeks, the hermit felt very lonely, he missed much the companionship of the villagers. And he was weary of being thought ill of, abused, and scorned. He did not have a single friend remaining. Being alone in the mountain and in his little hermitage had been a joy, when he found brief visits below to meet his need for sharing.
Finally, the hermit, on one last visit down the mountain, discovered the villagers were still mad and contented so. Hence, he decided, rather than endure his loneliness, to join them in madness. So, he drank the water, too.
Communion does not negate, but includes equally, the inequality inherent in diversity
Oneness being One absolutely in differentiation, relatively, diverse degrees of Consciousness express
diversity, in varied depth, more evolved, less, mirrors unequally Communion
hence, Love embraces all degrees of quality equally while not negating dissimilarities in depth of expression
the more evolved a person is the more he or she embraces others ~ human, nonhuman ~ equally and the fewer persons he or she will relate to with like-quality
the more evolved can understand and embrace others as an equal they cannot return a like embrace for one can only embrace from where he or she is
still, in Oneness is Communion with everything fulfilling the need for companionship
one can allow, without feelings of guilt, a natural detachment from the past and anyone in that past who no longer needs to be in his or her life ~ this naturally happens, do not resist it out of a sense of false loyalty
and, conversely, the same can trust Life will bring into his or her life persons to share with in likeness of Heart
one may undergo a time of lack of such companionship if so, accept such as opportunity to deepen oneself in the Communion of Life
among those of like-expression of Consciousness, and not, love all equally, gladly, for Love loves all equally
as to their evolution in Consciousness ~ that is not your business... don't play 'God'!
again, in Oneness all are absolutely one, equal in relativity, the expression, we are of unequal Embrace
if one is called to live without someone to share with equally Grace will be given for acceptance that this, too, is a gift
of import, once you surrender your life to Life you are surrendering your felt-right to decide who is or is not in your life
from that point on, Grace decides, and you are only the spaciousness for persons to come and go, freely
